Because it’s 100% recycled, the glass is sustainable and eco-friendly. And because it’s colorful, the glass will allow your landscape project to take on a striking life of its own.
A 50lb bag of landscape glass rock typically covers 7 square feet with 1” depth. However, we recommend 2” depth coverage or 3.5 square feet per 50 lb bag, or 14 lbs per square foot.
When calculating fill amount for gabion baskets using 4-6” glass rock we generally recommend using a ratio of 90 lbs per cubic foot.
Please note that the color can appear darker in larger pieces and that coloring can change slightly from production lot to production lot so if you are unsure please request a sample.

What Is Tumbled Glass Mulch?
Tumbled glass mulch is a synthetic mulching material. It's made from old glass bottles, windows and crockery. It's available in bright colors, and it can be used in many different ways. The tumbling process smooths the edges of the glass, eliminating sharp areas. Choosing tumbled glass mulch for your landscaping needs also helps keep waste out of the landfill.
Inorganic Mulch: Definition & Benefits for Landscape Designs
Inorganic mulch consists of man-made materials, which could consist of rubber, glass, plastic film, fabric, or stone. It doesn't break down like organic materials, so it lasts longer. So, if you hate pulling weeds from your plant beds, this is the kind of mulch for you. While organic mulch is only available in natural colors, such as brown and black, inorganic mulch is available in a variety of colors to coordinate with your planters, flowers, and other outdoor decor.
Benefits of Tumbled Glass Landscaping Rocks
Tumbled glass landscaping rocks add a burst of color around your garden path. They also reflect light away from your garden bed, which may help protect sensitive plants.
When adding a water feature isn't feasible, using blue tumbled glass landscaping rocks mimics the look of flowing water without having to deal with the installation of plumbing fixtures, aerators, pumps, and liners.
In places with intensely hot summer weather, tumbled glass landscaping rocks may help keep the surface of your yard cooler, so you'll be able to enjoy the space during the heat of the day.
Ways to Use Glass Landscape Rocks
In addition to lining your garden path with tumbled glass landscape rocks, there are many other ways to use this material.
- These rocks work well as flower pot fillers, especially if you use silk flowers.
- Surround your outdoor fire pit with glass rocks. They reflect heat and aren't flammable.
- Use the rocks to mimic the look of flowing water. You can even create a faux fountain or pond with the rocks.
- If you don't like the look of bare dirt along the edges of your paths or patio, add glass landscaping rocks.
