SlopeGrid GeoCells provide an economical long-term prevention solution to soil erosion, soil migration, and damaging shifting forces due to weather, specifically when these occur on sloped surfaces. When placed on a slope and filled with an aggregate, the interconnected welded cells will form a protective layer that keeps the soil below in place. The SLP series is not suitable for load support due to its larger cell size, but it provides a cheaper alternative to the LSG series that is specifically designed for erosion control. Another feature of the SLP Geocell is that it goes over the soil in the intended area; making for easier installation and allowing each cell to be planted with vegetation. Planting each cell beautifies the area and further prevents erosion through root growth. The SLP series geocell is a great alternative to constructing a cost prohibitive retaining wall.
